Week 3 Picks

Thursday Night Football

Giants 27- Redskins 21

The New York Giants became the first team in NFL History to go 0-2 while holding 10+ point 4th quarter leads.  With two weeks of criticism as motivation the Giants close the deal vs the Redskins.

Sunday
Falcons 24 – Cowboys17
The Cowboys are without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant with Jason Witten fighting multiple injuries the only thing keeping the game close, is the surprising emergence of the Cowboys defense, who will keep it close but ultimately the injuries will not be able to keep up with Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Roddy White.

Colts 35- Titans 21
The Colts have not lost 3 straight with Andrew Luck at QB and it won’t happen this year.  The battle of former PAC12 QBS will end with Luck the Victor.

Raiders- 28 Browns 10
The Browns have once again committed a Quarterback no no choosing the NFL Journeyman Mccown to start over 2014 1st round Johnny Manziel who has performed admirable, with McCown struggling Manziel will enter in the 4th but it will be to little to late.

Bengals 35 Ravens 13
The Ravens have not shown up this year and the defense is struggling without Terrell Suggs after a last second loss to the Raiders last week The Ravens will not be able to stop the surging Bengals this week in an NFC North rivalry game.

Patriots 45 Jaguars 14
The blow out of the week will feature the unstoppable combination of Tom Brady and Gronk vs the Jaguars Defense.  The Patriots are playing with a chip on their shoulder and it is showing through 2 weeks and will continue this week.

Panthers 14 Saints 12
The Panthers offense and Saints Defense are both horrid which will keep this game close but without Drew Brees the Saints will fall short of Cam Newton and the Panthers.

Jets 28 Eagles 3
I personally hate this pick I am biased as an Eagles fan, but given how well the Jets defense has played and how horrid the Eagles offense has looked this is a make or break game for the Eagles, unfortunately they are facing a Defense that has forced 10 turnovers through 2 games including 5 vs Andrew Luck and the Colts last week.  Can the Eagles show some fight? If not Chip Kelly maybe sending out resumes this off season.

Texans 21 Buccaneers 7
The Texans finally get a win beating Winston and the Buccaneers the Duo of Watt and Clowney combine for 6 sacks and keep Winston uncomfortable all game.

Vikings 21 - Chargers 20
This game stays close and comes down to a mixed extra point by rookie Lambo

Steelers 28 Rams 13
Steelers get Leveon Bell back to combine with Big Ben and Antonio Brown and that electric offense will face off against a Rams defense featuring 4 first round defensive lineman Ultimately Nick Foles folds under the pressure sending the Rams to 1-2

Cardinals 35 49ers14

Bills 21- Dolphins 17

Seahawks 35 Bears 7

Broncos 21 Lions 17

Packers 35 Chiefs 31

DeflateGate

Deflategate has dominated the sports world for seven months now.  It started after the Indianapolis Colts reported that the New England Patriots game balls seemed flat.  After testing the game balls it turned out they were under the league minimum ball pressure.  Two weeks later the Patriots won the Super Bowl, while the NFL hired Ted Wells to do an independent investigation.
During the investigation Tom Brady and the New England Patriots maintained their innocence, however outside of New England very few believed them.  This was their own doing though after all eight years ago we dealt with Spygate.

The Wells report came back and to some helped vindicate the Patriots and Tom Brady.  The NFL however felt they found enough proof in the Wells report to hand out a four game suspension to Tom Brady as well as fining the Patriots one million dollars as well as a first and fourth round draft pick.  The Tom Brady suspension was puzzling, as in the Well’s report it stated, “Tom Brady was more probable than not generally aware of the deflating of footballs.”  Words like Probable and Generally aware do not add up to a four game suspension.
Fast forward to July and Tom Brady’s appeal hearing that is being heard by NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodel the same person who handed out the suspension.  During the appeal hearing we found out during the investigation Tom Brady destroyed his cell phone that could have had evidence of his interactions with equipment managers.  With this information Goodell upheld the suspension.

Now here we are three days from the NFL season kickoff and Tom Brady won his appeal hearing in federal court and will take the field for the season opener against the Pittsburg Steelers.  Yet the NFL community is still talking about Deflategate, but why?  Is it just because the Patriots have gotten into trouble in the past?

How come as a society we support players that hit women and children, but persecute an organization for deflating a football?  It is time to move on from Deflategate, yet we cant the NFL is appealing the Federal Judge’s ruling meaning this will drag through the season providing a distraction instead of focusing on the game.

Tom Brady will go down in Football history as one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all time.  Let’s move on from Deflategate and look forward to the next 22 weeks of Football.

Introduction

I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Will Bredlau, and my dream is to become an NFL insider.  My brand is myself, what better to sell than yourself.  I follow every source of NFL News and I am quick to decipher it and break it down.  By using my football knowledge I can break down trades as well as breaking down individual play during games.  I look forward to growing a following and towards the 2015 NFL season.
